New Sports Complex in North Myrtle Beach Approved

The city council of North Myrtle Beach approved the annexation of 1,887 acreas to the city limits yesterday.  This land will be home to residential and commercial buildings and a new sports complex which is projected to bring in over $14 million annually in revenue, over $200,000 in taxes and add at least 200 jobs to the local economy.  It's location is west of the Intracoastal Waterway near Robert Edge Parkway and S.C. 31.

For us tourists, this means a variety of new tournaments and events to attend, but not for another 2 years at least. The sports facility will include eight multipurpose playing fields, walking trails, an amphitheater, a water play area and a dog park
